• In March 2021, Tilney Smith & Williamson acquired HFS Milbourne Financial Services Limited (“HFS Milbourne”), an independent financial planning business based in Guildford
• HFS Milbourne was one of the FTAdviser Top 100 Financial Advisers in 2020 and has strong connections with legal firms in the Surrey area. It had 7 advisers and around £350m AuM
• The company was formed by the merger in 2005 of those of the joint managing directors, Rod Milne and Colin Hayden-Cook, who had founded their companies in the mid 1980’s
• The business included two joint venture companies with accountancy firms operating as appointed representatives and another with Goodwille, which helps overseas firms set up UK subsidiaries, operating as a trading style of HFS Milbourne
• Our role included identifying the buyer and advising on the structure and terms of the sale
