Recent transaction experience – Ascot Lloyd Financial
Services
- In July 2012, Asgard advised Ascot Lloyd, an independent financial adviser and wealth manager, regarding an equity investment in its holding company, Planitplus Holdings
- Ascot Lloyd was formed in 2003 from the purchase of a long-established business and merged with another IFA, Planitplus, in January 2010. It is run by the principals of those two businesses and provides a holistic financial planning service from 4 offices
- The investment, in the form of a convertible loan note, will enable Ascot Lloyd to continue to pursue an acquisition strategy given the opportunities arising from the retail distribution review and retiring IFA’s. The company will seek to transfer client assets to its wrap platform to facilitate active investment management
- Utilico Investments is a closed-end Bermudan investment company listed on the London Stock Exchange
- Our role included finding the investment partner and advising on the structure and terms of the investment
“We are extremely grateful to Asgard Partners for helping us secure funding and cannot recommend them strongly enough. What has set them apart from other firms is the time and effort placed on researching our sector plus their attention to detail in preparation of the funding brief. Together with their excellent contacts and knowledge of the markets, these skills help save considerable time in the process of sourcing capital.”
